Modern IT facility at Indira Group Of Institutes





Students at the Indira Group of Institutes will now have an access to a modernistic IT services facility, thanks to the software major, Microsoft. Live @Edu, a unique and state of the art networking initiative was inaugurated at the institute’s Dhruv Auditorium in Thatwade on Wednesday. Meant for students and faculty, Live@Edu provides free email IDs, messaging portals, sky drive features among other things. The storage space available on these mail ids is close to 25 GB. The Indira Group is among a chosen few educational institutes in the country to have the Live@Edu and the only one in the country to have such an expansive one. The system will enable the students to have these mail ids free for a lifetime. The system was made available to 15 institutes of the Indira Group. The facility is launched free of cost by the Microsoft Corporation to educational institutes.

Speaking on the occasion, Kirk Gregersen, senior director, Microsoft said, “We are very impressed with the IT infrastructure at the Indira Group of Institutes and the work done by the team here . This is certainly one of the best Live@edu implementations in India as far as education vertical is concerned. Students and faculty will be able to connect with each other and collaborate more effectively through the combination of this excellent infrastructure and Microsoft’s Live@edu services”.

The programme was inaugurated by Group Director of the Indira group, Chetan Wakalkar. A live ID was also logged into, as an opening gesture. Wakalkar spoke about the current educational scenario in Indian universities. He said, “Indira Institute has always been at the forefront in adapting new information technologies”. Those present on the occasion included, Raj Mukherjee, Sr.Product Manager office live-Live@edu Microsoft, Shesha Sai, Siddarth Prakash from Microsoft. Santosh Kumar IT-Director IGI, and other directors, faculty, students and staff from Indira Group were also present.
