Conference report
“Advances in Engineering and Management 2011” was the theme of the first National Conference organised by Indira College of Engineering and Management sponsored by University of Pune. It is a pleasure to report the outcome of the conference.
Post lunch Dr. J. P. Modak (Dean, research and Development Cell, Nagpur University) dealt with Langrage Approach for problem solving in research.

“Advances in Engineering and Management 2011” was the theme of the first National Conference organised by Indira College of Engineering and Management sponsored by University of Pune. It is a pleasure to report the outcome of the conference.
For the conference various themes were decided to invite and accept papers. The themes included Electronics, Computer and IT, Mechanical, Science, and MBA. In total, we received more than 200 papers and after scrutiny, 125 papers were selected and presented in the conference. 180 delegates registered for the conference during these 3 days.
On 13th of January, the first day of conference, the national conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. A.S.Padalkar (Dean, engineering faculty, UOP) and Prof. Chetan Wakalkar (Group director, Indira Group of Institutes). Dr. Padalkar praised our efforts towards arranging National Conference at a very young age of the college. He was very much impressed with the infrastructure and staff at ICEM. He quoted that the college will soon appear in the list of reputed colleges and will travel very fast along the expressway.
On 13th January after the inauguration, eminent speakers were invited to enlighten the audience with their thoughts and experiences. Among them were, Dr. Sinnikari (Prof. at COE Pune and GCOE Karad) who addressed the audience on writing and publishing technical papers.
For the second session, Dr. Ashish Lele (Scientist, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune) addressed with the topic entitled Material technology. Post lunch Dr. J. P. Modak (Dean, research and Development Cell, Nagpur University) dealt with Langrage Approach for problem solving in research.
And for the last session the eminent guest from TATA Group, Mr. S.D. Pradhan (Founder President Tata Technologies) advocated with the challenge and opportunities with the present technical education.
Technical sessions started on 14th of January. In series 11 sessions were planned and the sessions were conducted at Sir Vishweshvaraya seminar hall and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam hall. For technical evaluation, experienced senior faculties were invited to chair the sessions. Among the chairman’s of various sessions, Six sessions were planned with 80 presentations of ENTC, COMP, and MECH. We also invited chairmen to guide the presenters. These include,1.
